Bruichladdich’s Octomore continues to deliver for fans of super heavily peated Islay whisky and it’s amazing to see it is now at the 11th series of iterations (where has the time gone?). The 11.1 has been bottled from whisky matured for 5 years in first fill ex-American whiskey casks. Distilled in 2014, this Ocotmore spirit was made with 100% Scottish barley and peated to 139.6ppm.

Bruichladdich is based on the utterly wonderful Hebridean isle of Islay and is incredibly proud of it too, promoting much of this Island and what it has to offer on their website. All their whiskies use only Scottish Barley (its called Scotch for a reason as they say) and are born and created to reflect the character and history of Islay. Their presentation is cracking too.
