Product Description

Between 1981 and 1989 the distillery sadly closed only returning to production of true Malt Whisky in 1997. Renowned as the peatiest and smokiest of all Islay Malts. ‘Unquestionably the greatest distillery on earth. If perfection on the palate exists, this is it.’ as the whisky critic Jim Murray puts it.

Tasting Notes

Flavours include lime juice, black pepper and cinnamon-spiced toffee, which precede smooth buttermilk, ripe bananas and currants.
