This 2013 Islay barley release is distilled from barley grown on six western and central Islay farms. The spirit has been matured in a mix of 75% fresh bourbon casks, 25% second and third fill sweet white wine casks. These bring a gentle cask influence to this vibrant terroir whisky Islay grown, distilled, matured and bottled.

Limited in production this was released as 6 year old Malt and leans towards a beautifully soft and creamy mouth feel, as rich natural oils from the barley coat the taste buds with delicate elderflower and honeysuckle, and gorgeous barley sugar sweetness.

Bruichladdichs distillery can be found on the utterly wonderful Hebridean isle of Islay and is incredibly proud of it too, promoting much of this Island and what it has to offer on their website. All their whiskies use only Scottish Barley (its called Scotch for a reason as they say) and are born and created to reflect the character and history of Islay. Their presentation is cracking too.
