John Crabbie & Co. already have a stellar reputation as a high-quality independent bottler, with many of the recent releases rumoured to have come from Macallan. (Oops, were we allowed to say that?) Anyway, moving swiftly on. This means that a new single cask bottling is bound to be intriguing, especially if it comes from the distillery we think it does
It was distilled in 1992 at an undisclosed, but legendary, distillery in the Glenlivet Valley of Speyside. That should be enough of a clue as there arent many, and although we love it dearly were not sure whether Tamnavulin would be considered legendary. Matured in a single Bourbon cask for 28 years, this Scotch was finally bottled at a cask strength of 45.5% into just 260 precious bottles. Weve managed to snag just six of them

Product Description
John Crabbie is a whisky legend. He inherited his fathers merchant business in Edinburgh and turned it into John Crabbie & Co. Purchasing a porter brewery in Leith amidst the pirates and smugglers, just a stones throw from what is now The Whisky Society, he began utilising the imports from the docks to make gin, fruit-based cordials and of course the world famous Crabbies Ginger Wine. Crabbie then began procuring single malts from the finest distilleries, producing his own at the likes of Balmenach and Benrinnes, maturing barrels of Lagavulin, Talisker and Laphroaig, and then alongside Andrew Usher and William Sanderson he set up the iconic North British Distillery. Now reborn, his company has launched several limited-edition single malts and has announced plans to launch its own creations from its multimillion-pound Bonnington Distillery in Leith.
