Sourced in the traditional way, from the highest-quality individual growers in the Douro Valley, where the varying altitude and aspect of the vineyards creates the potential for a complex wine of great character. Fermentation is halted by the addition of grape spirits before all the residual sugar has been fermented, creating a sweet, fortified wine. Fine Ruby is a blend of young wines matured in neutral oak vats for an average of three years before bottling.

Tasting Notes

A stylish fruity nose which is full of the intense and concentrated blackcurrant and cherry aromas, but which retains the elegance and harmony which are the hallmarks of the Krohn style. Full bodied and firm, the palate is crammed with luscious black fruit flavors.
