Founded in 1836 by Alexandre-Louis Pommery, Madame Pommery took over the House after her husband’s death in 1858. She expanded Pommerys reputation by creating wines of unparalleled quality, emphasizing the importance of exceptional grape origins. Over the years, she acquired some of the finest vineyards in Champagne, blending tradition with innovation.
Champagne Pommery is renowned for creating the first dry Champagne in 1874, known today as the Brut style. Remarkably, 92% of Champagnes are now made in this style. Clement Pierlot, the 10th Chef des Caves since 1836, is dedicated to organic viticulture and leading the conversion of all Pommery vineyards.
Today, Champagne Pommery offers a range of expressions, including the flagship Brut Royal (non-vintage), Apanage Champagnes (non-vintage, ideal for fine dining), POP Extra-Dry splits (personal-sized bottles of 187 ml, perfect for gatherings), and Cuve Louise (a masterpiece vintage Champagne from three Grands Crus, produced only in exceptional harvest years).
